It has a glossy metallic outer body which makes it look like a million dollar phone but course thats just not it. Google has updated their mobile homepage for iPhone users for quick and easy access to all of your Google apps with a simple, fast, and attractive tabbed interface. The tabs link to the straight- up Google Mobile homepage (which offers dynamic as-you-type suggestions) along with iPhone-optimized interfaces for Gmail, Gcal, GReader, and a More tab that provides access to Docs, SMS, GOOG-411, News, Picasa web albums, Blogger, and Notebook. The recent addition of IMAP in Gmail has made it that much easier to access and sync your Gmail online and off, but with the simple access to Gmail and other Google apps through the new and improved homepage, it may be just as simple if not more so to use their online portal—especially if you're a Google apps junkie.

Virgin Mobiles in India

India is now gonna be Virgin.Guess what guys Virgin Mobile has entered the Indian telecom market and is aiming at a subscriber base of five million urban youth to turn profitable by 2010.The services will be marketed through a brand franchise agreement under which the company will license the Virgin brand to TataTeleservices.TataTeleservices, which already operates Tata Indicom in the CDMA space with a 10% market share, will launch Virgin Mobile as a new brand riding the same network, and will extend both the brands to GSM services if and when the spectrum is allocated.Financial terms of the agreement between the two conglomerates were not revealed but officials said that money will be paid to Virgin on a per subscriber basis.Handsets would be bundled with the service and will retail between Rs 2,000 and Rs 5,000.Its gonna be great going the virgin way.

How to block your cell number

Believe it or not if you want to block your cell phone number from showing up on other cell phones (for whatever reason), you can do it temporarily simply by dialing *67 before the number you're actually calling. This is indeed a cool trick for guys out there who wants to play a prank or two with their friends, but if you want to reassure yourself just call another phone number that has caller ID to double-check that your number, indeed, is blocked.

Increase Your MMC (MultiMediaCard) Space

Your files in MMC are stored in multiple (disk) blocks.So if you format using 16K block, the space used will be 16K eventhough your file is just 1K.If you buy MMC, it is usually preformatted with 16K block. Therefore alot of space is wasted as most installed program files are usually less than 2K.You will need a card reader to do this:-
1. Connect card reader and copy all your files in the MMC to computer disk. (Make sure you set the show all/hidden/os files to "on")

2. Do a format of the MMC using command line "format" and use the /A=size option.Alternative, you can use the Disk Management in Adminstrative Tools to format. Make sure you select FAT. For 256MB MMC, smallest block you can use is 4K, 128MB is 2K, 64Mb is 1K and 32MB is 512B.(Note: You cannot use the phone "format MMC" to do this as the format just clear the allocation table and does not change the block size)

3. Copy back all files to MMC.Now you will find that you will have more space.256mb MMC got back 30+ mbs

Google's New Smart Fone

Ever since Gizmodo snapped photos of supposed Google-powered mobile phones, speculations abound regarding their debut. The pic above is an HTC (a Taiwanese company) manufactured Google Android smartphone prototype. It's a hair's width away from being hideous but people are pumped up for an early 2008 release. There have been talks of a Mobile World Congress release in Barcelona on February 11, 2008. It's not too long until the Congress, folks. We'll all have to be holding our breath until then.

This is the usual GSM Triband phone cooked by samsung. As one can see this is a slider model with a metallic finish which makes it look classic and posh. It has a TFT screen with a resolution of 128 x 160-pixel. The internal built in memory is 20MB and has external compatibility of TransFlash / microSD. The con of this phone is that it has a 1.3 mega pixel cmos digital camera which is quite obsolete compared to the Nokia N-73 (3.2 mega pixel) or Nokia N-95 (5.1 mega pixel). Other than this the performance of the phone has not yet been rated by the user cause it has not yet been released in India.
